We are born creative. It is a natural part of our being/soul.
It isn’t an activity we preform. We aren’t creative because we paint or knit or build furniture or whatever. Those things are creative because we are creative.
You make it creative.
You put your heart and soul into it. This is why we are touched, moved, inspired by things people create.
We are born complete embodiments of creativity.
If we are creative naturally, why is creating things so hard?
We’ve created societies, systems, human experiences designed to convince us we’re not creative.
We’ve put creativity in a tiny cage. Narrowed down and made rules around what is allowed to be creative and how we are allowed to be creative. Then made it the least valuable thing to be.
Creativity is self expression, joy, problem solving, stress reduction, healing, inspiration and educational.
Creativity is all the arts and crafts we normally label as creative, but it is so much more.
Creativity cures cancer and ends homelessness. Creativity grows enough food for everyone. Creativity discovers what lives deep down in the ocean and makes sure the ocean keeps being a healthy place for those beings to live.
Creativity is your Zone of Genius or that one thing you love or the one you are really fucking good at. It is all of you. Your entire being. Every miraculous molecule. Even the boring bits.
Blocks to our creativity are the result of how we treat creativity in our society, not because you aren’t a creative being.
Creative exorcises or practices help remove those blocks or boundaries. They don’t make you creative. You already are. These practices are more about undoing the harmful conditioning society pushes.
Undoing a lifetime of harmful conditioning isn’t easy. There will still be times when your creativity doesn’t seem to be flowing. That’s normal. It doesn’t mean that aren’t creative or that you’ve lost your creativity. It’s impossible to loose because it is a natural part of your being.
